This Jim Price basketball card is number 38 in a series of 264 manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1973-1974 NBA season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Los Angeles Lakers guard. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Jim led Louisville Cards to semi-finals NCAA Tourney,” as well as a short biographical sketch and career statistics.
Price began and ended his seven-year NBA career (1972-1979) with the Los Angeles Lakers. In between he would also play for the Milwaukee Bucks, Buffalo Braves, Denver Nuggets, and Detroit Pistons. In 1975, Price averaged career-highs in points (16.1) and assists (5.7) per game, and was named to the NBA's All-Star team.
