Description (Brief):

This sheet music is for the song “I Want to Be a Soldier Lady” from the musical drama, Sally in our Alley. The sheet music was published by Joseph W. Stern & Co. of New York City in 1902. The song’s lyrics were composed by George Hobart and the music was composed by Ludwig Englander. The cover features an illustration of the titular character leaning over a balcony and two inset photographs of Hobart and Englander above the title, and an inset photograph of Gracie Fields, the star of the show at the bottom of the cover. The cover’s illustration is signed by John Frew.
