Description (Brief)
This souvenir booklet from the opera Porgy and Bess was composed by George Gershwin, with libretto by DuBose Heyward and lyrics by Ira Gershwin. The world premiere performance took place at the Colonial Theatre in Boston on September 30, 1935 and subsequently opened on Broadway at the Alvin Theatre in New York City on October 10, 1935.
