This sheet music is for the song “Sweet and Hot,” with words by Jack Yellen and music by Harold Arlen. It was published by Ager, Yellen and Bornstein, Inc. in New York, New York in 1930.

”Sweet and Hot” was featured in the musical, You Said It, with music by Harold Arlen, lyrics by Jack Yellen, and book by Jack Yellen and Sid Silvers. You Said It opened on Broadway at the Chanin’s 46th Street Theatre on January 19, 1931. The show ran for 192 performances.

The cover art for this sheet music was made by American artist and illustrator Sydney Lefkowitz (Leff) (1901-2005). Leff began his career as a commercial artist while he was still in high school. He would produce sheet music covers through the 1940s and subsequently moved on to generating advertising for Madison Avenue clients.
