- An inscription in the lid of the case reads “AMPHOJEL / REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. / CONTINUOUS GASTRIC / DRIP APPARATUS / JOHN WYETH & BROTHER / INCORPORATED / Philadelphia, Pa. Walkerville, Ont.” John Wyeth & Brother introduced Amphojel to commerce in 1936, and applied for a trademark on the term in 1939.
