Description:

This Sheath condom was distributed by Barnetts Incorporated of Charlotte, North Carolina during the late 20th century. The blue box features an inset circular image of a blond-haired woman looking over her shoulder, with text underneath describing the condom as “Specially Lubricated/Special Shape.” The reverse reads “COMFORT/Sheath/PROPHYLACTIC/SECURITY/MADE IN KOREA.” Beginning in the late 20th century, manufacturers in Asia began to successfully compete with American manufacturers and by the 21st century, American consumers were overwhelmingly buying condoms that had been manufactured in Asia.

Sheath condoms were often sold through vending machines. Throughout the twentieth century, vending machines provided an easy way to discreetly distribute condoms.
