On this steel shaft, gears in two sizes are attached to rings and lined up on the shaft as in 1983.3002.05. Some gears are marked with numbers. Some are marked: BOSTON. the mark refers to the products of the Boston Gear Works.

Parts of the Bush differential analyzer at NMAH have museum numbers MA.314824 and 1983.3002.01 through 1983.3002.89.
