- Patent model for Mahlon I. Gallager, “Improvement in Automatic Dental Drills,” U.S. Patent 135,109 (Jan. 21, 1873). Mahlon I. Gallager lived in Savannah, Ga., and was apparently the designer of the Gallager Carbine used by Union soldiers during the Civil War.
