Description
The obverse of this silver medal has a portrait bust and “ALBERT ETHELBERT EBERT / 1840-1906.” The reverse has “AMERICAN PHARMACEUTICAL ASSOCIATION / ORGANIZED 1852 INCORPORATED 1888” and “EBERT PRIZE / AWARDED TO / JOHN URI LLOYD / FOR THE PRIZE ESSAY / STANDARDS FOR WHITE / AND BLACK MUSTARD SEED / 1899.” Albert Ethelbert Ebert, a noted German-American pharmacist, established this prize in 1873. John Uri Lloyd (1849-1936) was a pharmacist and leader of the eclectic medical movement in the United States.
