Description:

Patent model for H. Le Riemondie, “Surgical Instrument for Examining the Ear, etc.” U.S. Patent 9,581 (Feb. 8, 1853). Riemondie lived in New Orleans, obtained a patent for an otoscope in 1853. An inscription on the model reads “Manufactured by G. Kellogg Birmingham CT.”
