Description
Hand balance with a 5-inch iron beam with index, and 1.5-inch brass pans. According to the donors, it belonged to Samuel Fahnestock (1764-1836), a physician in Lancaster, Pa., and/or his son William Baker Fahnestock (1804-1886), a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania who also practiced medicine in Lancaster.
