Description
Mary Ann Creighton Pursell (1809-1897) received this brass hand balance at the time of her marriage in 1836. It has a 5.75-inch beam, index, 2.5-inch pans, and three square brass weights. The top of the rectangular wooden case carries an image of an American eagle.
