Description (Brief)
Wood block, Bird, Wisteria, and Bee. Color block, two-sided. Block capped with wood at both ends. Original artist Koga; block cutter/engraver Rokuzaemon MIYATA. with oval paper label "No. 2" on recto. Remnants of block-cutter's guide print on one side, with wisteria blossom portion of design on recto; chop or seal with [publisher's info] on verso.
Ink inscription on edge of block with paper label: Dept Int/260898/51116.
Transfer from Bureau of Education Museum, Dept. of the Interior through Anthropology, NHB. Originally from Japanese exhibition at Centennial Exposition, Philadelphia, 1876.
