This postcard showing "San Gabriel Mission, California" was published as a lithograph by the Detroit Publishing Company circa 1910. The postcard was published as number 12688 of a series of 12000.
The Detroit Publishing Company, also known as the Detroit Photographic Company, was first noted in city registers of Detroit in 1888 and it was managed by William A. Livingstone. Livingstone invited the famous landscape photographer William Henry Jackson to join the company as a partner.
In 1771, the San Gabriel Mission in California was founded.
