Description (Brief)
One (1) Smith Premier No. 1 typewriter
Manufactured by Smith Premier Typewriter Co., Syracuse, New York. Blind writer with platen that swings up to reveal printing. Double keyboard machine with seven rows of characters, upper case keys in black and lower case in white. Circular brush for cleaning type in basket; brush is wound up into position by detachable crank handle. Ribbon, 1.5" wide, zigzags to utilize its entire width. Extra unused ribbon in turquoise tins. Black painted frame marked under paper gauge: "The Smith Premier Typewriter." Sides and rear of machine decorated with architectural columns and flowers. Each side marked: "Smith Perier No. 1." Black painted sheet metal coarse lid with turned wooden handle. Typewriter fastened to base board to which lid can be attached.
