- Description
- Rotary style egg beater or food mixer made of sheet metal. Large steel crankwheel mounted on upper framework, set vertically between two smaller cog wheels which enable the mixing motion when cranked by the knob-shaped red painted wooden crank grip. Two bulb-shaped mixing components, each with four wings (bent sheet metal). Bent sheet metal top with cream colored handle, thick red band. Crank wheel is marked: "HI-SPEED BEATER", with diamond A&J trademark and, "MADE IN U.S.A. BY EKCO PRODUCTS C." A&J trademark used is the 1947 version.
- Maker is EKCO Housewares Company, Chicago, Illinois, who purchased A&J Manufacturing Company of Birmingham, New York in 1929.
