National Retail Federation Newspaper Ad

Description:

The National Retail Federation (NRF) placed this ad in the Wednesday, November 27th, 1996 edition of USA Today. The ad lists six statements of principles for supplier legal compliance that the retailer signatories agreed upon in an effort to sell products made with the highest ethical standards. The NRF is the world’s largest retail trade association, made up of retailers from more than 45 countries. During the early 1990s many companies began to adopt these standards in response to rising concerns about sweatshop labor.
