Description (Brief)
Wirt "Dim-A-Lite" lamp socket adapter, c1909. Black coated steel shell with brass medium-screw socket and porcelain insulator. Bolted contact, mica insulator inside. Slide mechanism external with two pull chains wrapped around back of shell, central support is a hex-head bolt and may not be original. Larger and heavier than other Dim-A-Lites. Shell stamped: "Charles Wirt & CO - Phila.- Patented - Dim-A-Lite". Attached to Phelps "Hylo Skedoodle" plug, catalog no. 320,744.02.
