One of three identical molded glass holiday or Christmas ornaments. Ball, clear glass under yellow-gold shimmering color. No cap, only thin bent wire loop inserted into top opening and hook attached. No mark, but possibly made in Japan based on identical marked ornament. (see 298065.272 and .275) In 1937, a tariff decision (no. 54387) reversed earlier decisions regarding the marking of ornaments with their country of origin, established in the 1890 MicKinley Tariff Act and the Smoot-Havley Tariff Act of 1930. The ornament itself now had to be marked with with its country of origin by stamping it into the cap or by way of tag or sticker.

The word “Gregg” is written in ink on top back in cursive, possibly “Greggory”, but the ornament is broken. Metal cap attached with bent wire hook inserted in top, with curled hook on top back of animal. No mark. Ornaments using similar molds were produced prior to 1940.

Molded glass holiday or Christmas ornament, butterfly-shaped, ribbed or streamlined body, with molded butterfly on front and back. Mirrored silver, butterflies painted with yellow-gold bodies, red dots on head and wings, paint has faded. Metal cap with metal hoop attached to top, with bent wire hook for hanging attached. No mark. Similar ornaments were produced using older molds, prior to 1940, and those molds were then reused after 1940, making an exact date difficult.
Molded glass holiday or Christmas ornament in the shape of a fish. Opalescent ground, painted bright pink body, blue eyes, lips, and fins, with molded scales. Metal cap attached at tail, with bent metal wire hook attached to a curled metal wire that protrudes from the fish’s tail. No mark. This ornament mold was used prior to 1940, but then reused since then, making it difficult to date.
