Canister is made in four pieces, the collar, rounded conical shoulder and cylindrical body have soft-soldered lapped seams; the shoulder and body are joined by a folded seam while the flat bottom has a folded edge. Box front and side are painted with pale-blue, gilt-bordered, scalloped rounds, each containing a red flower with yellow and white center flanked by clusters of red berries or cherries. Lid front and sides have two different patterns of yellow brushwork; top has yellow brushwork around handle and a solid band around edges. Three-piece lid has a wire-rolled rim. Five-piece box has a flat bottom and a top edge folded with wire bead below. Tinned interior. Inside back of lid is scratched "4 12-". No other marks.
