A wooden housing painted black, inside of which is mounted the circuit for a carborundum or pyrite detector. The circuitry consists of two condensers, variometer and resistance with associated variable taps. The bands are: 150 - 700 and 600 - 2200. Marked: "Loewe Radio". British combination radio receiver and phono-amplifier. A rotating coil section encased in a bakelite form is employed as a primary inductance and connected to an antenna-ground circuit by binding posts on the base. Wavelength response of this coil is 200-600 meters. Coupling is varied by rotating this inductance in reference to a fixed plug-in coil which also resonates in the range of 200-600 meters. Vacuum tube (type 3NFW) for specimen is broken. Station tuning variable capacitor has mica insulation strips on the stator plates. Other controls include an ON-OFF switch. Tuning dial missing. Banana jacks for phono pickup arm and a loudspeaker. Made by Loewe Radio Co. Ltd.
