Six-board chest with dowel pin hinge. Oblong top overlaps edges and is reinforced on both sides with a strip of wood pegged to the underside of the lid and running parallel to sides of body and tapering toward front. Front of chest has three horizontal bands (approximately 1” each) of beveling. Irregular chamfering on edges of front panel. Feet are cut from side panels and have notched ornamentation. Front feet project forward, and front panel has three bands of horizontal grooves. Panel is held together with wooden pegs. Bottom of sides cut out with three triangular tops (similar to half of a six-pointed star) Handwrought iron nails visible.
