Handle has an incurved cylindrical wood grip and curved-end supports held in place by square thumbscrews. Four-piece brazed body has a six-spiral grill on sole interior and is supported by three internal rivets, one at each corner. No marks. Used with heater or slug, 1979.0862.06.
With straight, slender, D-section arms terminating in two horizontal oval grips or pads extending from straight, round handles that are connected by a hidden hinge held closed by a leaf spring bolted inside one handle and fitted into groove of the other. Tamper with thick, tapered shaft is attached perpendicular to hinge on the grooved handle. Cusped shoulders. No marks.
