Small, circular skillet on three, semicircular, splayed legs with a beaded lip, rounded sides and an integral, tapered, D-section handle chamfered beneath its rounded end. Hollow cast with single gate mark on bottom exterior. No additional marks.
Single-reeded circular plate with flat well scored once near booge; no foot ring. Tombstone-shaped eagle touchmark of Thomas Badger above partial secondary mark of "[B]OSTON" in raised serif letters in a rectangular scrolled reserve on underside of well. One of three plates, DL*388308A-C; A-B are identical, C is slightly smaller in size and exhibits more wear.
Maker is Thomas Badger (1764-1826) of Boston, MA; working 1787-1815.
Rectangular kettle with a flat, inset cover topped by a flattened knop and a mushroom-shaped, flat-strap handle with tubular grip and heart-shaped terminals riveted to the sloped shoulder. Cast, S curve spout with split lip is soft-soldered to the folded vertical seam. Body has one large hole at spout; its shoulder and flat bottom are attached with folded edges. No marks.
Puritan type rattail spoon with almost circular, fig-shaped bowl and straight handle, flattened hexagonal in section with squared end. Face of bowl below juncture with handle is struck once with touchmark of "HK" in an imperial crown above an undulating sunburst motif. One of five matching spoons, DL*38840, 3884041, 388048, 388049 and 388050.
Crook - or hook-top andiron with slender, squared shaft tenoned through squared, arched legs ending in flat pad feet. Slightly stepped billet bar tenoned through upright. No marks. One of a pair, DL*388206A-B.
Surveyor's chain winder consisting of a cylindrical central shaft running through an X-shaped frame with incurved or U-shaped sides forge-welded to the top and bottom crosspieces. Shaft is secured at top with a square washer and ends at bottom in a spear point that can be driven into the ground. One end of top crosspiece has an iron baluster handle; opposite end of bottom crosspiece has a small spike that can also be pushed into the ground to prevent reel from moving. No marks.
Puritan type rattail spoon with circular bowl and straight handle, flattened hexagonal in section with squared end. Face of bowl below juncture with handle is struck once with partial touchmark of a crown, possibly above letters.
Fixed hand fan made of 17 turkey tail feathers connected by a wire pierced through their quills and wrapped or woven around with green ribbon. Green velvet and loose green ribbon around handle. No marks.
Quarter-circle pan with flat, curved front edge and two, wire-rimmed, straight sides that is attached to a long, straight, metal-wrapped, looped wire handle on back of one side with two rivets. Pan is made from one piece, cut and folded into shape; no solder visible. No marks.
Plain-edged, shallow, circular skimmer with coffin-ended or clipped-corner, flat handle having a large, pierced hole at end; made from a single piece of sheet metal. Bowl is perforated with small holes arranged into a circle with eight, straight, radiating arms around one hole at center. Front of handle struck incuse above hanging hole "B.S. PORTER" in roman letters.
Small, scroll-top andirons or creepers with rectangular shafts and squared, arched legs. Billet bars, cylindrical in section, are tenoned through the bases of the single-piece uprights. No marks.
Wrought iron trammel. Two interlocked hooks hung from a lug pole allow a pot to be lowered or raised above an open fire. Flattened shaft with five rectangular holes and curled hook at top, terminating in outturned circular hole. Another hooked shaft is inserted into hole, a hammer-shaped hook is inserted to adjust height above the fire. No mark.
