Figural andiron of a man walking left with his hand in his coat pocket; he wears a long, collared coat with buttons from collar to waist, calf-high, heeled boots and a hat with a rounded crown and an open arch springing from the ends of its curved brim. Entire andiron is a single, two-part casting, with the cast billet bar inserted into and fused to the puddle-cast upright when poured. No marks. One of a pair, DL*388203A-B.
Basin porringer-type bowl with molded rim, slightly rounded and tapered sides, and flat bottom incised near perimeter; interior marked at seven graduated intervals, each line stamped incuse with an even number from "2" to "16". Cast Old English-type handle is pierced with 8 voids and struck once on top with tombstone-shape, crowned book- or Bible-between-pillars touchmark of John Foster.
Circular waffle iron, plier form, with two, long, tapered handles, rectangular in section, the shorter one ending in a small loop with shaped locking ring that fits over the ball-and-acorn terminal on the other handle to secure closed. Both handles have arrow-shaped pads welded to plates. No marks.
Trammel - adjustable hanger - for supporting an open iron lamp. First piece is a long flat iron strip with simple hook at top and rat-tail loop at bottom; from which a thin oval link is suspended. This link catches on any of the bottoms of 8 saw-tooth ratchets on a second flat piece. A flat loop riveted to the top of the second piece wraps around the first piece, allowing the second piece to move up and down on the first, the wire loop catching below one of the teeth at the required position. A hook with rat-tail terminal at bottom of second piece suspends the lamp.
Peel with an inward-scrolled, heart-shaped terminal, a rectangular shaft and a flattened spatulate or shovel-shaped working surface with rounded front corners. Made from one piece. No marks.
Tapered cylindrical, handleless pot with horizontal, single-reeded rim and rounded bottom on an applied, concave foot ring; made to be placed in a commode chair or stool. Plain body. Several letters and numbers lightly scratched into bottom underside. No marks apparent.
Knife-blade andiron with a brass multiknopped finial and applied, beaded-edge plinth block on rounded, arched legs ending in penny feet. Knife-blade andiron with a sharp-edged knop finial on rounded, high-arched legs ending in penny feet. Hollow-cast, vertically-seamed finial and thin, square support are peened on top of the baluster-shaped upright which is made as one piece with the legs. Deep, circular strainer attached with three rivets to a long handle twisted at center and flattened into shaped ends with a bent-back hook at top; a U-bent clip is soldered to the rolled rim opposite handle. Bowl is perforated with small holes arranged into a spiral. Rivets hammered on front and back. Possible stamp at front top of handle. No other marks.
Adjustable, shallow, three-sided pan mounted to an L-shaped, wrought-iron frame with two large hooks on its vertical side for hanging over a fireplace fender. The T-shaped handle fits through a slot in the horizontal side of the frame and has ends that loop around it; pulling and pushing the handle slides the pan backward and forward on the frame. A hinged, skewer-shaped piece attached to the back of the pan's flat side fits in holes in the handle so it can be propped up to different angles. Folded and riveted construction. No marks.
Conical coffeepot with a domed, hinged lid topped by a ribbed-edge knop. Tapered, D- or ear-shaped strap handle is soft-soldered to the body at its wire rim and folded vertical seam opposite the straight tapered spout with flat lip and soft-soldered lapped seam. Raised double bead around upper body; body perforated at spout. Attached flat bottom with folded edge. No marks.
Ovoid funnel with narrow lip, quarter-round neck, and two bands of seven grooves on exterior; plain, tapered cylindrical spout. Small lug with ring attached below rim. No marks.
Cooking pot on three, triangular feet with a flared lip, bulbous body and forged bail handle looped around triangular lugs or ears. Flat cover with high arched handle riveted in place. Pot is hollow cast with three fillets, one around lip and two around body, the lowest one is a horizontal seam; two vertical seams on upper half and single gate mark on bottom exterior. No other marks on pot or cover.
One-quart milk can with molded and tapered strap side handle topped by a low-domed cover with arched strap handle; cast brass letter "S" soldered to breast opposite handle. Can made in four parts: a soft-soldered lapped-seam, wire-rimmed neck and conical breast; cylindrical, folded-seam body; and flat bottom, all joined by soft soldered and folded seams. Cover has folded edge and deep, lapped-seam collar. Both handles soldered in place; that on cover has folded-over edges, while that on body has rolled-under edges. "Bagg" scratched on body; no other marks.
Unlidded, bulbous pitcher with high, spurred, D- or ear-shaped strap handle, small flared pedestal base and large, inset, curved spout; no strainer. Fillet at neck and base; molded bead at seam. Underside of slightly convex bottom has a barely legible, small portion of a mark.
