Two, long, slightly bowed handles, circular in section, the shorter one ending in a scrolled hook with bent wire loop that fits over the bulb terminal on the other handle to secure closed. Both handles with arrow-shaped pads double-riveted to plates. Dome-headed handle pivot is peened over a domed washer. Cast-in marks on exterior of both plates include a relief profile bust of a man in military uniform, facing left, above the handle pads with "E. B." to his left and "BERLIN / CT" to his right in raised serif letters, placed sideways.

Attached metal plate on body is printed in black sans serif: “EUREKA/CORDLESS/AUTOMATIC/DETROIT” with red stars. Right side of soleplate is stamped: “25054”
(B)Curved, triangular-shaped base, iron (A) sits on top, heats. Metal with plastic edge. Heat control stamped into back, with molded plastic knob, black. Power cord attaches to back, fabric cord, metal coil, brown and white cord, with black plastic plug, two-pronged. Top of base is stamped/engraved: "EUREKA AUTOMATIC/CORDLESS IRON/MADE IN U.S.A./EUREKA VACUUM CLEANER CO./DETROIT, MICH./115 VOLTS 1300 WATTS AC ONLY/MODEL NO. 150-A”. Attached sticker on underside of base, white, printed black “MANUFACTURED UNDER ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING LETTERS PATENT: [MISSING],888 – 2,181,042 – 2,202,440 – [MISSING]4,132”.

Maker is Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Company, Detroit, Michigan, circa 1909-present. In 1954, the company merged with Williams Oil-O-Matic, of Bloomington, Illinois (founded 1918), and became the Eureka-Williams Corporation. The company merged with the National Union Electric Corporation in 1960.

Fabric selector dial on top of body, molded black plastic with white writing, streamlines. Detachable power cord (B) attaches to body (A) at back of handle. Black woven fabric cord with white specks, coiled silver wire, and molded plastic two-prong plug. Extended heel rest is debossed on top: “DOVERITE/Automatic”; underside is stamped: “UL/FOR USE ON A.C. ONLY/PAT. NOS. 2,039,222/1,951,176/2,136,763 PATSPEND/V.115 W.1000/11-41 CAT. NO. 350-R/KNAPP-MONARCH CO. ST.LOUIS,U.S.A.” Soleplate is scratched throughout, abraded.

Founded circa 1916, Dover Manufacturing, of Dover, Ohio, produced electric flatirons until 1936, when the Knapp-Monarch Company purchased the company and it ceased to exist. The Knapp-Monarch Company, St. Louis, Missouri, founded in 1925 as A.S. Knapp and Company, not as a manufacturer, but to sell products. The company merged with manufacturer Monarch Company of Webster City, Iowa, in 1928. In 1969 the company was acquired by the Hoover Company.

Detachable, gray woven cloth-covered twisted cord has spiral spring and two-prong plug at body and screw-in plug (for lamp socket) at the other, allowing for cordless ironing once hot. Maker name and product specifications stamped on tag affixed to heel. Stored in original rectangular paperboard box printed in red and blue with "Hotpoint" logo on all four sides, a checkerboard on long sides and top, maker name and product specifications at one end and "SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS" on the other; box manufacturer name printed on inside flap.
