Simplex Hooked Rug Needle, composed of wooden holder or handle fitted with a brass tube No. 4 for use with Sultana rug yarn. The tube is adjusted to proper length which is governed by the size of yarn used, by a set screw in the collar of handle. The yarn is threaded into the top of the handle and passes out through the end of the tube which forms the needle. When the tube is pushed down through the material the yarn is carried through and forms a loop on the under side when it is withdrawn. A sample length of Cheney Brothers rayon pile chiffon velvet in a medium dusty blue. A solid cut pile fabric; the rayon pile has been pressed flat as in a panne velvet, giving a very shiny surface. The ground is more densely woven than a true chiffon, but the fabric has a very soft hand.
