This medalette, issued under the reign of Nicholas II, was minted in 1899 in Poland as a prize for the Warsaw Rowing Club. The Warsaw Rowing Association was founded 1878 and was the first rowing club founded in Poland. Rowing clubs developed under Russian direction and played a large role in Polish nationality.
This medal was minted as a cycling prize for a touring event between Russia and Poland in 1899, during the reign of Nicholas II (1894-1917). Obverse inscription: WYSCIG OBJAZDOWY ("Touring Event") / P.Z. T.Z. / 1899.
