- Description
- Black leather bag with four round metal feet, one black leather handle on each side, and a metal buckle on one side. A strap to close the bag has detached and is kept inside. The interior is tan, brown, and yellow plaid, with one pocket. The top opening of the bag and the bottom rim have interior metal support. The bottom has a stamp depicting a "G" and two letters, possibly both "O's". The bag was part of a midwife's kit from Buffalo, NY, about 1920.

- Maier's straight polypus forceps, with catch, and cross-serrated grip measuring 3 centimeters, with a smooth oval interior. Above the screw in the hinge is the KNY-Scheerer Corporation trademark that depicts a Caduceus (professional medical symbol) with a snake in the shape of an S curled around it and a crown above. This instrument is nickel plated and was part of a midwife's kit from Buffalo, NY, about 1920.

- White cardboard box with black print containing six 1/2 mil. glass ampoules. Mulford Laboratory brand on bottom left corner of label that reads "For the Conservation of Life." Each glass ampule is packaged in a cardboard tube sealed with a white paper label with black printing. A paper insert is included (filed separately). - A double articulated vaginal speculum with two folding handles and an adjustment rod. The handle attached to a top retractor has an oval- shaped indentation on its exterior when unfolded. The hinge for this handle is composed of a bar with a bolt on one side. A handle attached to the bottom retractor has ridges on its exterior. An adjustable rod attaches at the same hinge as the bottom handle. Screw ridges are present on the rod with an adjustor. A detached bulb with a side screw opening rests above the adjustor. Retractors are attached to each other with screw hinges. The speculum was part of a midwife's kit from Buffalo, NY, about 1920.
