According to the donor, this is the first blow-molded plastic bottle, and it was made at an experiment station in 1938. It is thus reasonable to assume that it was associated with the first plastic blow molding machine developed by Enoch Ferngren and William Kopitke. A paper once associated with the bottle read “Formula Y—Lot 1041—13/16” extrusion—Tubes 370—Compression 400.”
