This brief volume by painter and former professor of topography V. Pellerin was first published in French in Paris in 1870. Thie short introduction to perspective, intended for artists, recieved favorable notice from Dumas at the Parisian Academy of Sciences and from the head of the division of fine arts, who arranged to have 500 copies ordered for public libraries and schools in France. This English translation was first published by Bickers & Son in London in 1878, with this New York version distributed by G. Putnam Sones simulataneously. The book includes a folded sheet of plates.
