- Joe Bussard (born Joseph E. Bussard, Jr., 1936 -) is an American collector of 78 rpm records and founder of Fonotone Records in Frederick, Maryland. This independent label, and last of the 78 record labels, was in operation from 1956-1970. Fonotone was dedicated to the release of new recordings of bluegrass, folk and blues music.
