- Description (Brief)
- This costume is worn by the narrator figure Rafiki, the tribal shaman or spiritual leader, in the stage musical, The Lion King. The character, a baboon, is always portrayed on stage by an actress as a way, in the words of Julie Taymor, the show’s director-designer, to bring “a strong adult feminine presence” to the play. The costume is a fine example of the way the designer combines aspects of South African art with that of show business razzle-dazzle.

- Description (Brief)
- These three finger puppets are part of child's toy set based on characters from the popular children's television series, The Howdy Doody Show that aired from 1947-1960. The puppets include Howdy Doody the cowboy, Phineas T. Butler the mayor, and Clara Bell the clown.
- Made of soft molded latex, the heads are attached to a paper body with a cardboard backing printed to look like clothing. There is a small hole at the bottom of the head for your finger. Originally, the set was packaged in a cardboard box that doubled as a stage. The popularity of Howdy Doody created a sensation and this toy set was just one of many toys created to market the show to children.

- Description
- On a memorable episode of Seinfeld (NBC, 1989-98), comedian Jerry Seinfeld unwittingly agreed to wear this frilly "pirate shirt" during an appearance on the Today show.
- The popular series, famously described as a show "about nothing," reveled in the absurd situations that emerged from the everyday lives of its four main characters: Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer. The "puffy shirt" episode, originally broadcast September 23, 1993, was written by Seinfeld cocreator Larry David.
