Waiting for another invention, on a camping trip with industrialist Harvey Firestone and President Warren Harding, 1921

Edison, Henry Ford, and Harvey Firestone (and wives) took a vacation trip together in 1915. The next year (without wives) they were joined by the naturalist John Burroughs in what was to be an annual camping event (with the exception of 1917), continued by the other three after Burroughs' death in 1921.
