WHAT: The National Museum of American History will reopen to the public after a
six-month closure and with new acquisitions, including a Bob Ross painting
and the gown from Crazy Rich Asians on view. Enhanced health and safety
precautions are in place throughout the museum.

The National Museum of American History will reopen to the public Friday, May 21, after being closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The museum will open Fridays through Tuesdays with reduced hours between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., with the last entry at 3 p.m. Health and safety measures for visitors and staff are in place, including requiring all visitors to reserve a free timed-entry pass and to wear a face covering for the duration of their visit, including children over the age of 2.
No formal program or remarks are scheduled for May 21; museum staff will be on hand for one-on-one interviews.
