This Archives Center case commemorated the 100^th anniversary of the birth of William “Billy” Strayhorn on November 29, 1915. Drawn from several collections in the Archives Center, it examined the pros and cons of his musical partnership with Duke Ellington as well as his career apart from Ellington.
