When friends ask you to view their vacation photos, does it elicit a grin or a groan? Well, we’ve really been enjoying the terrific photos that people have been posting to our Flickr group of their museum visit. Many have shared photos of favorite objects and museum programs, as well as the colorful events of our reopening weekend.
The above close-up by “Mr. T in DC” of a 1950 Buick Super sedan in America on the Move is one of my favorites. The beautiful old vehicles in that exhibition seem to inspire many of our visiting photographers. Take a few minutes to check out some of the other photos in the group as well. It’s nice to see so many people having a good time interacting with history.
While you browse a few photos, take a chance to listen to the latest program in our “Sounds of America” series. To celebrate the reopening of the national museum we thought it would be fun to create a playlist of songs that reference various locations all around the nation. The program includes a wide variety of musical styles, and was a lot of fun to put together. Hope you enjoy it!
