Media are invited to preview the updated “Giving in America” exhibit, which will examine the contributions of artists in mobilizing support for a variety of causes, from arts education to humanitarian aid. “Giving in America” is a long-term exhibit that looks at philanthropy’s role in shaping the U.S. It opens to the public March 22 and a companion invitation-only symposium on culture and the arts, “The Power of Giving: Philanthropy’s Impact on American Life” takes place that same day.
Media are also invited to cover the March 22 third annual symposium, “The Power of Giving.” Darren Walker, president of The Ford Foundation, will give the keynote address, and the program features panels and performances that illustrate how Americans continue to use the arts to raise awareness, mobilize resources and find common ground.
Note to editors: A full symposium schedule is available. Media attendees must register in advance to attend the symposium by contacting the Office of Communications and Marketing at 202-633-3129.
