Public Presentation of Red Sox Artifacts

The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History will host a public presentation of objects donated to the national collections by the Boston Red Sox. Wally the Green Monster, the Red Sox’s mascot, will be available for public photos.

Larry Lucchino, president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox, will present the team’s donations: a jersey worn by pitcher Jon Lester in Game 4 of the 2007 World Series, and a third base used during the 2004 World Series. The objects and Wally the Green Monster, the Red Sox’s mascot, will be available for public photos at the presentation’s conclusion. The artifacts will then be on view through June 28. They will be featured near Roberto Clemente’s Pittsburgh Pirates baseball uniform.
