Statement from the National Museum of American History: Kathy Griffin

In a recent video interview, comedian Kathy Griffin claimed that the Smithsonian has requested her “blue dress.” The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History has never requested this object from Ms. Griffin nor does it have any interest in collecting it.

The museum does not know where this misinformation came from and this statement serves to set the record straight.
