Research Specialties: 

Alex studies and writes about 19th century African American history. Her research focuses on free Black property owners in antebellum St. Louis, examining the intersection of capitalism, sex work, formal law, and racial violence in the city. 

Role in Museum: 

Alex develops and manages hands-on and virtual educational programming for visitors, specializing in conversational interpretation and multisensory programming. She is trained in ethical interpretation and is a member of the museum's Center for Restorative History.

Alex has also served in a variety of roles during her tenure at the museum, including as an intern, in frontline visitor experience, as a digital marketer, and as a special assistant in the Director's Office.
