Behind the Scenes

Ripped Apart: A Civil War Mystery is based on real people and events in history. Curators and eductors used the Museum's rich collections to develop the game and its characters.

Many of the objects were from the Museum's Photography collection. The millions of photographs in the Museum's collections compose a vast mosaic of the nation's history. Thousands of cameras and other equipment represent the technical and business side of the field. Join Curator Shannon Perich in a behind-the-scenes look at one component of this collection, the cartes de visite.
