Betty Weiner's research for the Steinway Diary Project has included a wide range of subject matter encompassing reviews of performances at the Metropolitan Opera, the street addresses of various saloons in New York State, and William Steinway's prowess as a wrestler.

Weiner also researched the aftermath of the collapse of the marriage between William and Regina Steinway and the later life of Louis Stern, who was the initial cause of their breakup.

Betty Weiner was born in Detroit, Michigan, attended Northwestern University and graduated with a BA in economics from Wayne State University. Now retired, she and her husband live in Reston, Virginia where they are members of the George Mason University Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, which has an active program of lectures and special events. They have four children and three grandchildren.
