Marie-Christine Gasparri’s areas of research ranged from the bad weather of February 1894 and how it made New Yorkers' life more complicated to the life of Ismaël Pasha, ex-Khedive of Egypt, and to the recipe of William’s favorite oyster soup.

Marie-Christine wanted to contribute to the Smithsonian Institution and be involved in the American way of volunteering. She always enjoyed history and found opportunity to explore it through the Diary Project.

Gasparri is French, born and raised in the Versailles area. She graduated in economics from University La Sorbonne and in finance from University Paris-Dauphine. Her husband Guillaume's job brought them to Asia where they with their children for 14 years in Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, and India. Residents of the Washington, DC area since 2008, she and her husband, Guillaume, live in Bethesda, MD with their three children, Valentine, Pierre and Josephine. Gasparri is on the board of the French International School in Bethesda.
