New York and Astoria May 18th 1890

May 18th Sund.

Papa Ranft stops at our house in Steinway with us. R. Ranft jr. wife + baby come to dinner with us. d’Alberts letter to Knabe in all the papers letter to Knabe in all the papers

May 19th Mond.

As usual excessively busy. At 3 P.M. the Rapid Transit Commißion meets at 107 E. 14th str. in my old Office and discuss matters.

May 20th Tuesd.

Am at Bridge Com. in afternoon and at L.K. in evg, taking Cab for Astoria Ferry late, as Statuten are discussed by General versammlung, and Alfred Schlesinger is there

In evg at Buildg Com. Deutscher Verein to Astoria via Hunters Point

May 22d Thursd.

At Bk Metrop. Work home in evg

May 23d frid.

Rapid Transit Com. all meet at 107 E. 14th str. again; all present, Mr. John M. Bowers with us. Remain in my office and work until late meet v. Graberg at Lienaus. Worlds Fair Meeting no Quorum

May 24th sat.

Excessively busy from morning til night at my office. Fine articles in the papers as I gave them to the press yesterday. Work til late at Mansion

May 25th Sund.

At Mansion all day, at noon get Alfred Schlesinger from Astoria Ferry, he remains at dinner, we then drive to Bowery Bay Beach, there Papa Ranft, Schlesinger and I take Ferry boat F. P. James to College Point, return with same boat back to Grand Pier, leaving Schlesinger at College Point. The boat touched Grand Pier first time today and does well, being badly overloaded at 8 P.M. trip

May 26th Mond.

The work on me is terrific, an immense crowd of people pestering til 6 P.M. Home at Mansion working

May 27. Tuesd.

Bridgemeeting postponed work til 6 P.M. take supper at Louisa A. St, at Vorstand L.K. new Music Com. elected, I having positively declined. In carriage with Ranft + Hoffmann to Ferry
