Mount Clemens, Mich. Aug. 5th 1895.

Aug 5th Mond.

21st bath and 20th Massage. Am kept very busy. Yesterdays North Beach outing, R.R. + Ferry receipts greatly injured by torrents of rain. Yesterday S. E. Clark, his partner Bruce spent at Cinc. with Crawford. Talk over proposed Concert for next saturday in evg with Mr+Mrs. Egnew

Aug 6th Tuesd.

rainy day, 22d bath +21st Massage. Again very busy Mr. Clark of Detroit comes, we arrange programme for next saturday +talk over business matters. M. S. Chambers telegraphs that his father Thomas H. Chambers died today Stetson telegraphs that I should stay here longer than next monday but I decline

Aug 7th Wed.

Take my 23d bath at 7 A.M. which I like better than at 9.30 A.M. Dictate letters to Stenographer to Damrosch L.v.Bernuth +c.’ Louis Stern, the Dry Goods man of NewYork was sentenced at Kissingen to two weeks prison and to pay a fine of 600 Reichsmarks, last monday. Consultation with Dr. Taylor, advises hot water on my knees and right foot, while in bath, in evg 22d massage

Aug 8th Thursd.

Beautiful, but hot day. At 9.30A.M. with Leonce on board steamboat “Roberta” down Clinton River to Lake St. Clair, see an immense raft of logs in pieces, thence to Star Island, where we dine from 12-1 o’clock, then up Clinton River, with beautiful Cottages, Clubhouses on the U.S. side and poverty and desolation on the Canada shore, to the Indian Reservation of Wampoo Indians, buy bows +arrows for the children, +baskets +c. for Paua, Annie Krüsi, Julia Cassebeer On returning go through U. S. Ship Canal, having 22 feet of Water at low stage. Return at 6 P.M. well sunburnt. 24th bath at 7.30 A.M. 23d massage, presence of Dr. Taylor, evg

Good weather, take 25th bath at 8 A.M. Yesterdays N.Y. Herald states that on Wednesday, Nina Gordon was drowned off my Dock, she with longshoreman Sullivan having taken a boat after frolicking at North Beach,
