New York, April 23d 1874.

April 23d

13th Anniversary of my marriage, which I celebrate with a Rheumatic Attack in my right Elbow. I can write however. It rains all day, At home in Eveg, reading proof of first 24 pages of our new Catalogue

April 24th friday.

Rheumatism still pretty bad, both in Elbow and Middlefinger, but it is gradually growing better, I only eat soup and fish. At home in eve'g writing letters to Europe,

April 25th saturday.

Heavy Rainstorm all day, Mr. H. A. Cassebeer and his daughter Gussie leave in Steamer for Lima, Peru. With Mrs. Albert at Thomas Concert, Steinway Hall in Eve'g, nice presentation to Thomas, $3500. in Money and Silver Service. At 10 P.M. Albert & my wife arrive from Buffalo in a drenching Rainstorm, we meet them at Depot, discover that I am sore

April 26th Sunday,

at Store in forenoon, Meet Albert and Kroeger at factory, reading to them proposition from Louis Ritz Agt of Niederheitmann Aachen. Play Cinc. Euchre in afternoon, also at my house in Eve'g. Am at L.K. last Concert, but walk home at 11 P.M. sore

April 27th Monday

Am at Dr. Gardner early in the morning On coming to the Store learn that Geilfuss is crazy we try to send him to the German Hospital, but he is not admitted & returns to Belvidere House
