New York, Aug 14th 1874.

Aug 14th friday.

Fine day, down town, dinner at Rommelsbacher chat with Klamroth & Ottendorfer.

Aug 15th sat.

With Dr. Gardner and his buggy to Astoria play Euchre with him and old & young Titus til 5 P.M. take dinner at Dr. Gardners, at Academy in Eve'g, Sängerbund Concert, very poor singing.

Aug 16th Sunday,

Splendid weather, work in Store til 12 o'clock, dinner at Henry Cassebeers, he & I then drive to College point, via Greenpoint, see drilling for Water near Thompson Ave. stop at Funke's house, on our way home touch our farm, Koven there for the first time, Home at 9½ P.M.

Aug 17th Monday.

Hempsted from Milwaukee and Sochner from Indianapolis in town, Albert returned from Buffalo, we examine left hand lower Gallery, and decide to strip it, At home in evening, I play cards with Wohlers, win 6 games 66 from him

Aug 18th Tuesday.

Splendid cool weather, sold 5 pianos at Retail yesterday, with F. R. Elliott to Astoria he wishes to buy some of my Rapalye property at L.K. in eve'g, Maggie came home yesterday

Aug 19th Wed.

Very warm, Albert sick, dine at Zieglers with H. Ziegler to Astoria, stop at Van Alst Office he consents to drainage Alley, has changed direction of Eastern end of Riker Avenue, Map nearly ready for filing. Eat Supper at Zieglers, play cards with Henry Ziegler, afterwards on Stoop, Papa and Mama Cassebeer there
