Again better. Wife + Paula examine Roos trunks brought from Schroeders, again put on my gaiters. Theo. & I. drive to factory. All the others out, I read in eveg | |

Theo. introduces me to Pollini, Dr. Portig. In forenoon with wife & Hartwigk to Johannes Schroeder, look at Roos furniture. We are all at Holwedes in afternoon at Baptism of his son, Theo. Hartwigk & I Taufpathen, I give 100 Marks a pillow & two glass vases. In eveg at Hartwigk, afterwards to a café, home at Midnight | |

am nearly well, at 10 A.M. my ladies & myself to Dresden (Theo. goes with us to Uelzen) where we suffer terribly by heat arrive at 8.35 P.M. Baby splendid | |

Nice and cool. Trip though Altfranken, baby fearful crying spell, Ranfts all sick; at 1 AM leave for Carlsbad, have to change cars, baggage searched at Bodenbach, arrive tired | |

at Carlsbad 8.40 A.M. find lodgings with Salon & 3 rooms in "Königin von England Alte Wiese at 70 florins pr. week. Visit Dr. Grünberger, who examines me finds me healthy | |
