New York, June 18th 1884.

June 18. Wed.

Walk to store, Am pestered by beggars terribly beautiful day, feel a great deal better both in arms and feet, to Astoria in afternoon, take two powders pr. day

June 19th Thursd.

Excessively warm, our office in Astoria factory yard commences to assume shape, lower window frames being put in. Second tier of beams laid in 15th str. N.Y. Suffer a good deal from the heat but am gradually growing better in my feet and arm. Sleep quite well. Servant Kate discharged

June 20th friday.

Very hot. Have examination at Bank of the Metropolis, get $20. find all in best of order. Michaelis delivers keys of 204. East 18th through me to Papa Ranft, who has returned from Boston where he has been 4 days. Take warm bath at Mansion in eve'g which greatly refreshes me

June 21st sat.

To town early, am again better and now can walk down stairs without a cane. Magnus Gross arrested yesterday on suit of O'Rourke & paroled til Monday yesterday went through annual Bank Examination at Bk of the Metr. found things pretty good received $20. take Medicin (Salicylic powders) only twice every 24 hours. Mrs. Savage calls on her way to Europe. Am badly pestered by deadbeats The Freunds in their sheet again make insinuations that we crushed Weber +c. To Astoria in afternoon. It is very hot

June 22d Sunday.

baby Theodor had been wailing during the night on acc. of his teeth coming. Dr. Taylor applies Mustard plaster. I work all day. Am still a little heavy in my feet Campbell calls on me, also Kittle. In Ravenswood our car runs over a child 2 years old. Lovely weather growing cool towards eveg
